Every year since its launch in 2000, Renault’s International “Safety For All” campaign has given primary school teachers a chance to develop their pupils’ awareness relating to road safety issues thanks to a specially-tailored kit or reaching material and a drawing competition. This year’s scheme has enabled Renault to reach out to more than 1.2 million children aged between 7 and 11 across the world.
The seventh year of the international “Safety For All” programme saw the participation of 8 countries, with the children producing almost 6000 drawings on the theme of “Getting to School Safely”. On June 9, the winning classes from the eight participating countries were invited to visit Disneyland Paris where 200 children had gathered for the International Finals which brought the seventh edition of the “Safety For All” programme to a fittingly cordial and festive close.
The “Safety For All” drawing competition was run in 8 countries, namely Cyprus, France, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland and Turkey and Renault received a total of almost 6000 drawings. The winning class from Cyprus was D1 from B Primary School Makedonitissa, Nicosia.
The 23 children from the Cyprus winning class travelled to Disneyland Paris on June 8-11 with their teachers and escorts. There they met up with the 200 children from the 8 participating countries where they had the opportunity to share their ideas on road safety matters. Furthermore, they did not waste any time playing and using all the facilities Eurodisney had to offer!

On the 8th May, the “Safety For All” Drawing competition held by Renault came to an end when the winning posters were announced and the winning classes were awarded their prizes.
At the award ceremony, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Communications and Works, a senior representative of the Ministry of Education as well as the Chief of Police gave speeches and congratulated the winners for their excellent work.
Class D1 of Makedonitissa’s B Primary School was awarded at the Nicosia Renault Showrooms after their poster on the theme “ Going to School Safely” was selected as the top contender securing them the 3 day prize to France. Their poster was selected to represent Cyprus in the international road safety campaign organised by Renault.
The second runner up was Class E3 of Larnaca’s Kalogera KB Primary School which won 2 Apple/Macintosh computers from ALL Records Play for their school and in third place was Class E2 of Ayios Lazaros A Primary School which won safety equipment including helmets, knee-pads and reflective vests for all.
The programme “Safety For All” involved the distribution of educational material on road safety to 36,500 students in Cyprus who were taught the subject during class.
The number of participants in the art competition exceeded 7500 students who worked collectively in their classrooms to produce more than 500 posters.
The programme aims to help children realise the dangers they face daily travelling to and from schools with the intention of helping them protect themselves better as well as avoid activities that could jeopardise their safety.

the visitors.
Improving road safety means getting all key road safety players
involved. As a vehicle manufacturer, Renault has constantly striven
to make its cars safer for more than 30 years now. Even the most
advanced technology could never completely offset human error, which
is the cause of 80% of all road accidents. In other words, the best
safety device is a responsible driver.
On Friday October 6th, DOMS
CARS LTD organized a press conference to announce the commencement
of the international educational program “SAFETY FOR ALL” by RENAULT.
It will be taught to all children between the ages 7-11 years old

was a priority to introduce this program in the country. This activity
is part of RENAULT’s broader corporate social responsibility program.
In Cyprus, DOMS CARS LTD managed to acquire the support of the
Ministry of Education and Culture and the Cyprus Police.

has pursued a simple objective: to make young people aware of the
basic principles of road safety through education and training and
teach them road safety reflexes from an early age. “Safety for All”
is the biggest-ever operation of its kind in Europe, with 19 countries
and 7 million children taking part.
