The electromechanical parking brake has little in common with a conventional handbrake. It is resistant to wear, its braking effect is permanently constant and it cannot lock. The electromechanical parking brake is activated by pulling the small electric lever on the centre console or dashboard (depending on model), which replaces the conventional handbrake lever. The parking brake is released manually when pushing the small electric level or automatically by pressing softly the acceleration pedal and releasing the clutch. It does not have to be released manually even when performing a hill start. This application helps to increase the driving pleasure with smooth start, facilitated manoeuvring and hill starts and is ideal for customers with reduced mobility.
